Kick-Ass trailer is, well, kick-ass

You may have noticed that real life contains a disappointing lack of costumed superheroes. That problem is set right in Kick-Ass, the upcoming film adapted from the notoriously violent comic book of the same name.

Based on acclaimed scribe Mark Millar's graphic novel, the movie is the tale of Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a keen youngster who dons a costume, picks up some weapons, and heads out into the night to fight crime under the name "Kick-Ass" — even though he doesn't have any actual powers.

His adventures unite him with fellow vigilantes Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) and his daughter Hit-Girl (Chloe Moretz).

Kick-Ass kicks into cinemas on April 8. Check out the newest trailer and poster below.
