Rumour patrol: Megan Fox signs on as Catwoman?

Is Megan Fox set to become a cat?

So says British tabloid The Sun, which reports that the 23-year-old actress has signed on to play Catwoman in the next Batman movie.

Keep in mind that it was The Sun which "reported" that Eddie Murphy would star in the film as the Riddler, a rumour that was discredited almost as soon as it was published.

The Megan Fox rumour has also been quickly discredited: according to People magazine, Warner Bros issued a statement saying Batman 3 is yet to start preproduction, yet alone casting.

Halle Berry most recently played Catwoman in the 2004 bomb of the same name, while actresses including Michelle Pfeiffer and Eartha Kitt have also stepped into the catsuit.

The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan is yet to make an official announcement of the highly anticipated third Batman film.
