Who says female leads have to be smart, sassy and sensible? It's a PC world these days but luckily, Hollywood still has a sense of humour.

With ditzy chicks, such as Elle Woods (Legally Blonde) and Cher Horowitz (Clueless) leading the way, the Hollywood bimbo is still alive and kicking in cinemas today.

In her newest incarnation, the classic blonde bimbo revisits our screens in The House Bunny — the tale of a Playboy bunny evicted from the Hefner mansion who manages to find a group of kindred spirits in the Zeta Alpha Zeta sorority girls — seven of the most socially-challenged young women you can imagine.

With the release of 2008's The House Bunny, we decided to take a look back at 10 of our favourite big-screen bimbos ... and no, they're not all blonde, and they're not all women!
